This has to be one of the most unique smoking items ever made! Called the Smoker's Robot, it was intended to provide an elegant, upscale way to smoke cigarettes. The very heavy chrome base is 2-7/8" diameter, with a top piece that looks like a thin pen holder protruding from the top. The bottom is marked "Johnathan Law - Comfort - Luxury - Safety - Made in U.S.A. - New Haven, Conn. - Pat. 2,093,760 - Patents Pend." Two long cloth cords are included, one vibrant yellow and one salmon-colored. They both have a rich butterscotch plastic mouthpiece on one end and a threaded metal adapter on the other. The adapter screws into the back of the base, and the cigarette is placed in the top piece, so ashes can fall into the bowl of the base. Five sides of the box feature marvelous black and white photographs, all different, that provide examples of instances where the Smoker's Robot would be invaluable. The top end of the box gives use directions: "For use only with standard 2-3/4 inch cigarette - not for King size. Place cigarette in metal tube. Place mouthpiece between teeth, and then light cigarette." It also gives full cleaning instructions, as well as how to order "extra tube for the guests or family 35 cents each." This fabulous smoking accessory has never been used and is in MINT condition.
